The Willunga basin is renown for world class viticulture, but the production of wheat and the mining of slate, is the areas best kept secret. WBP remembers. Willunga Basin Photography Remembers Willunga Basin Districts is a work in progress, please subscribe and get informed only when the site is updated. Click images to open gallery Click for Updates Aldinga Mclaren Vale Under construction Port Willunga Under construction Whites Valley Under construction Willunga The Willunga Basin has a rich history from the mid 1800's when the early settlers arrived and farmed wheat and mined slate, both of which formed the financial back bone on which modern farming was built. Many of the early buildings are heritage listed and can still be seen throughout the community. I like the term "hidden in plain sight", it's all there for anyone that is interested. The WBP heritage pages are definitely under construction but there is still a bit to see and will build up over time for sure.
